all the butterflies
would you care?
would you look down
on me and ask,
"why? you have
people who love
you. you don't
have to do this."
but i do. it's not
something i can
just stop doing.

all the butterflies

would you look at me
with those same
eyes you showed
last thursday
and assume that
by the power of
your sadness it would
just halt? please.
don't patronize me.
if i decided to kill
all the butterflies,
do you think i'd
have remorse? of
course. i'd shed
enough tears to
fill a pool easily
because i've failed
everyone, including
myself. there's no
point in stopping.
i'll commit
butterfly genocide.

want to wreck
all things that
are beautiful so i
can rid the world
of mixed emotions
about things they
think are pretty?

believe that unless
